The Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA) held an important meeting as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the verification, transparency, and prevention of diversion of humanitarian assistance.

The meeting, attended by key stakeholders, focused on mapping and identifying the transport, logistics, and business communities operating along or near the Mogadishu–Baidoa corridor. The initiative aims to strengthen cooperation, accountability, and procedures for reducing the risks of humanitarian aid diversion.

Dr. Ismail Jimcaale, Head of Programmes at SoDMA, opened the meeting and emphasized the importance of sustained cooperation and information sharing to ensure that humanitarian assistance reaches its intended beneficiaries efficiently and safely.

Senior SoDMA officials, including Senior Advisers Mukhtar Sheikh, Mohamed Maalim, and Mohamed Adalle, also attended the meeting to support and accelerate efforts to prevent the diversion of humanitarian assistance.
