Mogadishu, Somalia: The country Humanitarian Forum (CHF 2026) is currently underway in Mogadishu, bringing together the Federal Government of Somalia, Federal Member States, humanitarian partners, international organizations, and other stakeholders.

The forum is focusing on preparedness, early warning, and anticipatory action to mitigate the potential impacts of El Niño and flooding.

Commissioner of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), Mr. Mahmoud Ma’allin Abdulle, emphasized the importance of early preparedness, coordinated action, and targeting support to communities most at risk.

The Minister of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation, Mr. Ali Yusuf Ali (Xoosh), and the UN Humanitarian Coordinator for Somalia, George Conway, also highlighted the need to strengthen coordination and early action to reduce the impact of disasters.

The forum continues to discuss joint preparedness and response measures for emerging humanitarian risks across Somalia.
