A conference organized by the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA) was held in the city of Mogadishu, focusing on strengthening the coordination of disaster responses and improving emergency relief mechanisms.
The conference was opened by Dr. Ismail Jimale, Head of Projects at SoDMA, who in his speech emphasized the importance of unifying emergency response efforts and utilizing existing systems in order to achieve a disaster response that is rapid, efficient, and sustainable.
During the conference, discussions were held on the use of identification and registration systems, aid delivery mechanisms such as financial assistance, and strengthening data coordination and government leadership.
Finally, the conference emphasized the role of the Social Protection System in improving emergency responses, while strengthening cooperation between government institutions and partners.
