The Commissioner of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), Hon. Mahmoud Moallin Abdulle, held a high-level meeting at the SoDMA headquarters in Mogadishu with a delegation from IRC Somalia.

The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation in disaster response, with particular emphasis on enhancing disaster preparedness, improving early response mechanisms, and building community resilience to the impacts of disasters.

Both sides also discussed the importance of effective coordination in humanitarian assistance and the implementation of sustainable programs aimed at strengthening the capacities and resilience of Somali communities.

In his remarks, Commissioner Mahmoud Moallin Abdulle underscored the importance of continuous partnership and effective collaboration to ensure rapid, coordinated, and efficient disaster response efforts that protect lives and safeguard the property and livelihoods of the Somali people.

This engagement reflects SoDMA’s ongoing commitment to strengthening partnerships with international and national humanitarian actors to enhance disaster risk management, preparedness, and resilience across Somalia.
