The Commissioner of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), Mr. Mahmoud Moallim Abdulle, together with the Director General of the Ministry of Finance of the Federal Government of Somalia, Dr. Suleiman Sheikh Omar, today concluded the Somalia Financial Resilience Conference in Mogadishu, which was held over five days.

The conference focused on strengthening Somalia’s capacity to prevent and manage disasters, including discussions on developing a financial mechanism that enables the government to respond rapidly to disasters and emergencies.

Participants also focused on reducing the economic and humanitarian impacts of disasters on communities and strengthening Somalia’s resilience to future disaster risks.

In his closing remarks, SoDMA Commissioner Mahmoud Moallim Abdulle thanked all government institutions and partners who contributed to the conference, emphasizing the importance of continued collaboration to strengthen Somalia’s financial resilience.
