Somalia’s Minister of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation, Ali Yusuf Ali (Xoosh), accompanied by the Commissioner of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), Mahmoud Ma’allin Abdulle, met with Japan’s Ambassador to Somalia, Hiroshi Matsuura.

The meeting focused on strengthening Somalia-Japan cooperation in disaster management, institutional capacity-building, and technical collaboration to improve disaster preparedness and response.

The discussions also addressed support for communities affected by emergencies, with particular emphasis on recovery efforts and creating sustainable livelihood opportunities to help communities achieve self-reliance. Key priorities included the development of agriculture, livestock, and essential social service infrastructure.
