Mr. Hassan Isse, Manager of the National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC) of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), today joined a high-level delegation on a working visit to Las Anod to assess the humanitarian situation and the impact of drought in areas of Northeastern State of Somalia.
The visit is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen cooperation among the Federal Government of Somalia, Northeastern State, the United Nations, and humanitarian partners. SoDMA recently delivered food assistance to more than 7,000 families in areas of Northeastern State and has also supported efforts to strengthen disaster management capacity and the Emergency Operations Center system in the state.
NEOC Manager Hassan Isse said the visit to Las Anod aims to assess the humanitarian situation and the impact of drought while strengthening coordination in humanitarian response and support for communities affected by the drought.
