The Somali Disaster Management Agency distributed food assistance in Xuddur district to 1,000 vulnerable households, including low-income families, persons with disabilities, and people who were recently displaced to Xuddur town, the capital of Bakool region. The aid, which consisted of various food items, was intended to reduce the severe impact that the ongoing drought in the country has had on vulnerable communities.
Present at the distribution site were the Commissioner of Xuddur district and the Governor of Bakool region, who highly commended SoDMA for its continued efforts to respond to people affected by the drought.
The officials noted that the assistance came at a time when local residents are facing difficult living conditions, emphasizing that support of this kind plays an important role in saving the lives of vulnerable families.
