The Commissioner of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), Mr. Mahmoud Moallin Abdulle, accompanied by the Galmudug Drought Committee, arrived in the town of Adado in the Galgaduud region as part of an official mission related to drought response efforts across Galmudug.
The Commissioner held a meeting with the District Drought Committee, where he received a briefing on the drought situation and its impact on the community. He pledged that the Agency would further strengthen its support for people affected by the drought.
The delegation led by Mr. Mahmoud Moallin Abdulle then proceeded to Bahdo district, where he handed over 100 water trucks to the Bahdo Drought Committee to be distributed to vulnerable families in the district and surrounding areas.
Finally, as part of his ongoing field mission, the Commissioner conducted an on-site assessment to evaluate the extent to which the drought has affected pastoralist communities, with the aim of strengthening planning and accelerating humanitarian response for vulnerable populations.
