The Commissioner of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), Mr. Mahmoud Moallim Abdulle, held a meeting with the UK Development Director, Mr. Chris Pycroft.

The meeting focused on the humanitarian situation in Somalia, climate change-related risks and the El Niño forecast, as well as ways to strengthen Somalia’s preparedness and capacity to respond to disasters.

The UK Development Director, Mr. Chris Pycroft, reaffirmed the United Kingdom’s commitment to continuing its support for Somalia and vulnerable communities, particularly during humanitarian crises and climate-related emergencies.

In conclusion, the Commissioner of SoDMA, Mr. Mahmoud Moallim Abdulle, thanked the Government of the United Kingdom for its continued support to Somalia, particularly in the areas of humanitarian assistance, disaster preparedness, and strengthening community resilience.
