A delegation from the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), led by the Manager of the National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC), Mr. Hassan Abdulkadir Isse, has arrived in Beledweyne.

The delegation, which includes the Director of Relations with Federal Member States and other SoDMA officials, is in Beledweyne to participate in a major meeting focusing on humanitarian affairs and the El Niño situation.

The delegation will also visit remote areas of Hiiraan Region, particularly communities living along waterways, where awareness-raising activities will be conducted to urge residents to stay away from waterways and other flood-prone areas.

The delegation’s visit precedes the arrival of the SoDMA Commissioner, Mr. Mahmoud Moallim Abdulle, who is also expected to arrive in Beledweyne tomorrow.
