The Commissioner of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), Mr. Mahmoud Moallin Abdulle, chaired a meeting to discuss the drought situation in the country and its effects on public health, particularly malnutrition.

The meeting was attended by officials from the Ministry of Health, especially the Emergency Department, as well as representatives from the Somali Medical Association. During the meeting, discussions focused on the health impacts of drought and the rising cases of malnutrition. The participants agreed to strengthen cooperation between SoDMA and the health sector in order to accelerate the emergency response and deliver assistance to the areas most severely affected by drought.

Finally, the Commissioner of SoDMA, Mr. Mahmoud Moallin Abdulle, emphasized the importance of giving special priority to the regions hardest hit by drought so that health services and urgent humanitarian assistance can reach the most vulnerable people.
