For the second consecutive day, the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA) continued distributing food assistance in Beledweyne, the capital of the Hiiraan Region. Thousands of vulnerable families from various neighborhoods of the city benefited from the assistance, which is intended to support communities affected by the severe conditions caused by drought.
The relief package consisted primarily of essential food commodities designed to help ease the hardships faced by vulnerable households.
Somali Disaster Management Agency reaffirmed that it will continue its humanitarian relief operations in the Hiiraan Region and across other regions of Somalia.
The distribution was witnessed by Abdifitah Mohamed Yusuf, Director of Federal Member States Relations at Somali Disaster Management Agency, and the Deputy District Commissioner for Security of Beledweyne.
