The Commissioner of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), Mr. Mahmoud Moallim Abdulle, accompanied by Member of Parliament Rays Qorane and the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management of the Galmudug State, Abdirahman Makaawi, today conducted a field assessment of areas hosting communities affected by drought. The visit aimed to identify urgent humanitarian needs and plan the delivery of emergency assistance.
During the visit, the Commissioner and the accompanying officials observed the difficult conditions in displacement camps and communities where vulnerable people are living, gaining first-hand insight into the priority needs facing those affected.
In his concluding remarks, Commissioner Mahmoud Moallim Abdulle called on humanitarian organizations, international partners, and all stakeholders engaged in humanitarian response to urgently support drought-affected communities by delivering life-saving assistance and helping prevent further deterioration of the humanitarian situation.
