The Commissioner of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), Mr. Mahmoud Moallim Abdulle, participated in the Climate Finance Coordination Meeting under Pillar IV of the National Transformation Plan (NTP). The meeting was organized by the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance, particularly through the National Climate Fund (NCF).
The meeting brought together representatives from the Office of the Prime Minister, Federal Government ministries, Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), the National Center for Rural Development and Durable Solutions (NCRDS), the Somali Development and Reconstruction Bank (SDRB), and other key institutions.
Discussions focused on strengthening climate finance coordination, leveraging funding opportunities, and developing projects aligned with Pillar IV of the National Transformation Plan to enhance Somalia’s resilience to the impacts of climate change.
Commissioner Mahmoud Moallim Abdulle emphasized the importance of close collaboration among government institutions, development partners, and financial organizations to secure sustainable financing that supports disaster preparedness, risk reduction, and effective response to climate-induced disasters.
