The Assistant Commissioner for Arab Affairs at the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), Abdirahman Mohamed Hussein, together with the Deputy Ambassador of the State of Qatar, Rashid Al-Abdallah, and officials from the Qatar Red Crescent Society, jointly launched the 1447H Qurbani Project organized by the Qatar Red Crescent.
The project will benefit 52,800 vulnerable internally displaced persons (IDPs) living in the Banaadir region.
Abdirahman Mohamed Hussein stated that SoDMA will ensure the delivery and distribution of the Qurbani meat across all Federal Member States and the Banaadir region so that vulnerable displaced communities in urban areas can benefit from the assistance.
The Deputy Ambassador of Qatar, Rashid Al-Abdallah, and the Head of the Qatar Red Crescent Society, Dr. Fatih Zaki, praised SoDMA’s efforts in ensuring humanitarian aid reaches the most vulnerable groups. They also pledged to further strengthen cooperation with SoDMA and its humanitarian teams in relief operations and humanitarian projects.
