The Commissioner of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), Mr. Mahmoud Moallim Abdulle, today received the Minister of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation, Mr. Ali Yusuf Ali (Ali Hoosh), at SoDMA’s headquarters.

This was the Minister’s second visit to SoDMA facilities within a short period. Discussions focused on accelerating humanitarian operations, reviewing the national preparedness plan for Super El Niño, and strengthening SoDMA’s coordination and leadership role in disaster management.

Commissioner Mahmoud Moallim Abdulle briefed the Minister on the humanitarian situation, ongoing relief operations, and preparedness plans for risks associated with Super El Niño. He also called for humanitarian organizations to be granted access to all areas of the country, particularly areas facing security challenges, to ensure assistance reaches vulnerable communities in remote locations.

The Minister of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation, Mr. Ali Yusuf Ali (Ali Hoosh), commended SoDMA for its productive work across the country and emphasized the importance of taking SoDMA’s warnings and calls seriously to ensure a unified and effective response to disaster risks.
