The Deputy Commissioner of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), Dr. Ahmed Abdi, who is on a working visit to the Gedo Region, delivered humanitarian assistance to Bardhere District in Jubbaland State. The aid is intended for nearly 2,000 families affected by the drought conditions in the country.
The Deputy Commissioner of SoDMA stated that the agency will continue providing emergency relief and humanitarian assistance to other areas impacted by the drought.
Bardhere District in the Gedo Region, which hosts internally displaced people from various areas, is among the locations in urgent need of humanitarian support, especially as recent rainfall across the country has been below the required levels.
