The Commissioner of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), Mr. Maxamuud Macallin Cabdulle, took part in the 4th session of the 9th Heritage Annual Forum for Ideas #AFI2025, joining a panel discussion on Somalia’s humanitarian situation and the growing risks of recurrent drought.

The discussion examined challenges caused by a sharp decline in global humanitarian aid, affecting life-saving services, disaster response, and support for vulnerable communities across the country.

Commissioner Mohamud shared insights and recommendations on mitigating these risks and strengthening coordination between government institutions, the private sector, and international partners to achieve sustainable solutions.
