The Commissioner of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), Mr. Mahmoud Moallim Abdulle, today received the newly appointed UNDP Somalia Representative, Mr. Christophoros Politis, at his office.

The meeting focused on introductions and an exchange of views on the situation in Somalia, particularly humanitarian affairs, disaster management, and preparedness for the anticipated impacts of El Niño.

The new UNDP Somalia Representative, Mr. Christophoros Politis, commended SoDMA’s efforts in disaster prevention and management and reaffirmed UNDP’s commitment to supporting ongoing efforts to address humanitarian needs and respond to emergencies.

The SoDMA Commissioner, Mr. Mahmoud Moallim Abdulle, welcomed the new UNDP Somalia Representative and emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation and partnership between the two institutions.
