The Commissioner of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), Mr. Mahmoud Moallim Abdulle, held a meeting with George Conway, Deputy Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General, Humanitarian Coordinator, and Head of OCHA in Somalia.

The meeting focused on assessing the progress of the ongoing drought response, reviewing preparedness for the floods forecast later this year, and discussing plans for a joint field mission to assess the humanitarian situation in Somaliland, Northeastern Somalia, and Puntland.

In closing, Commissioner Mahmoud Moallim Abdulle emphasized the importance of accelerating joint preparedness efforts for Super El Niño to reduce its potential impact on Somali communities, particularly the most vulnerable populations.
