Officials from the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), accompanied by representatives from the Ministries of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management of Somalia’s Federal Member States, who are currently on a study tour in China, today arrived in Xi’an, where they received a warm welcome from the Red Cross Society of China.

The delegation visited the Comprehensive Disaster Reduction Science Museum, where they were introduced to modern approaches to managing floods, earthquakes, fires, and traffic accidents. They also toured the Xi’an Memorial Garden for Body and Human Organ Donors.

The officials will spend six days in Xi’an, visiting institutions specializing in disaster risk reduction and prevention to enhance their knowledge and exchange experiences and best practices in disaster management.
