Member of the House of the People of the Federal Parliament of Somalia, Ms. Rays Qorane Abshir Adam, together with the Commissioner of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), Mr. Mahmoud Moallim Abdulle, and the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management of the Galmudug State, Mr. Abdirahman Mohamed Diriye (Makaawi), paid a working visit to Abudwaq District to assess the humanitarian situation and identify the priority needs of local communities.

The delegation received a warm welcome in Abudwaq. During the reception, the District Commissioner, the Chairperson of the Women’s Association, and several community elders emphasized the importance of the visit and expressed hope that it would lead to increased humanitarian assistance and support for the local population.

The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management of Galmudug State, Mr. Abdirahman Mohamed Diriye (Makaawi), stressed the need for a comprehensive assessment of the humanitarian conditions in the area to better inform relief planning and response efforts.

In his remarks, Commissioner Mahmoud Moallim Abdulle stated that the purpose of the visit was to conduct a firsthand assessment of conditions on the ground in order to strengthen humanitarian response and enhance support for communities affected by ongoing humanitarian challenges.
