The Commissioner of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), Mr. Mahmoud Moallim Abdulle, today received at his office the Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Egypt for African Affairs, Ambassador Mohamed Karim Fouad.
The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation between Somalia and Egypt, particularly in the areas of humanitarian assistance, disaster management, and enhancing the capacities of institutions responsible for emergency response and rescue operations.
Commissioner Mahmoud Moallim Abdulle briefed the Egyptian delegation on the humanitarian situation in Somalia, the challenges facing the country, and the ongoing efforts to address them. He also expressed his appreciation to the Government and people of Egypt for their continued support and solidarity with the Somali people.
In conclusion, Ambassador Mohamed Karim Fouad, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt for African Affairs, accompanied by the Egyptian Ambassador to Somalia, Ambassador Mohamed Salah, reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to continuing its support for Somalia, particularly in strengthening humanitarian assistance and disaster management efforts.
