The Deputy Commissioner of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), Dr. Ahmed Abdi Aden, inaugurated a consultative meeting on the establishment and development of the framework for the National Disaster Risk Management Fund (NDRMF).

The meeting brought together representatives from the Federal Government of Somalia, Federal Member States, international and local organizations, and civil society groups.

Participants discussed the importance of establishing the National Disaster Risk Management Fund and the role it could play in strengthening the country’s capacity to prevent, prepare for, and respond to disasters. They also provided recommendations on how the fund could be utilized effectively and transparently.

In his closing remarks, the Deputy Commissioner of Somali Disaster Management Agency, Dr. Ahmed Abdi Aden, emphasized the importance of collaboration among all stakeholders to successfully establish the fund and enhance the country’s capacity for disaster risk and disaster management.
