The Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA) distributed humanitarian assistance to nearly 1,000 vulnerable families in the district of Baardheere in the Gedo region. This aid operation was supported by the Government of China, a close partner of Somalia.

The assistance marked the second phase of relief efforts implemented in Baardheere, an area recently affected by severe drought that has impacted both people and livestock.

Previously, SoDMA carried out the first phase of assistance in Baardheere, benefiting approximately 1,200 vulnerable families.

The Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA) will continue its humanitarian operations across the country with significant support from some of Somalia’s international partner countries.
