SoDMA Advisory Message
The Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA) is advising communities living along the Indian Ocean coastline and the Shabelle River basin to remain highly vigilant.
Weather forecasts indicate that some districts in Middle Shabelle, Banaadir, Lower Shabelle, and Lower Juba may experience both riverine and flash flooding in the coming days.
Furthermore, water levels along the Shabelle River continue to rise, particularly in the towns of Beledweyne and Jowhar, increasing the risk of flooding, especially if additional rainfall occurs in the upper catchment areas of the river.
