The Commissioner of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), Mr. Mahmoud Moalim Abdulle, and the United Nations Assistant Secretary-General, who also serves as Assistant Administrator and Director of the Crisis Bureau, Ms. Shoko Noda, jointly chaired a meeting focused on the country’s humanitarian issues.
The meeting was also attended by officials from the Federal Government of Somalia, including representatives from the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM), the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, and the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources, along with delegates from United Nations agencies, academics, and members of the business community.
This strategic meeting focused on strengthening disaster response efforts, improving institutional coordination, and enhancing the resilience of Somali communities facing the impacts of climate change.
Finally, the Commissioner of SoDMA, Mr. Mahmoud Moalim Abdulle, emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation and unifying efforts to achieve sustainable solutions to the country’s humanitarian challenges.
