The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Somalia, Hassan Mohamed Ali, and the Commissioner of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), Mr. Mahmoud Moallin Abdulle, welcomed Tom Fletcher, the United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, to Mogadishu.

The purpose of his visit is to meet with senior government officials, United Nations agencies, and humanitarian partners to discuss humanitarian needs, accelerate emergency assistance for vulnerable populations, and enhance global awareness of the country’s situation.

Finally, the Commissioner of SoDMA, Mr. Mahmoud Moallin Abdulle, praised the visit, describing it as one that will strengthen efforts to enhance humanitarian operations in the country.
