The Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA) and the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs of the South West State today launched the distribution of humanitarian assistance in Baidoa for communities affected by the severe drought affecting the country, particularly residents of Baidoa and the surrounding areas.
The relief aid was officially launched by the Deputy Minister of the South West State Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Abdullahi Isaaq Moalin (Wasiir Ganeey), accompanied by SoDMA’s Assistant Commissioner for Arab Affairs, Abdirahman Wahid, and the administration of Baidoa District.
A total of 300 households, including persons with disabilities, recently arrived internally displaced people, and other vulnerable groups affected by the ongoing drought in the country, benefited from the assistance today. These highly vulnerable families were provided with different food items.
