The Commissioner of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), Mr. Mahmoud Moallim Abdulle, today received at the SoDMA headquarters the United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator for Somalia and Deputy Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General, Mr. George Conway.

The meeting, which was also attended by the Director of Food Security at the Office of the Prime Minister, focused on accelerating the implementation procedures of the Food Security Crisis Preparedness Plan (FSCPP). Both sides also agreed to establish a joint committee that will lead the coordination and monitoring of the plan’s implementation.

This meeting forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen cooperation between the Federal Government of Somalia and international partners in order to enhance resilience and improve responses to the impacts of drought.
