The Commissioner of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), Mr. Mahmoud Moallin Abdulle, today visited the office of the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs of the Federal Government of Somalia, Prof. Salim Alio Ibro.

The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation between the two institutions, particularly in responding to humanitarian situations, supporting vulnerable communities, and accelerating collaboration among government institutions addressing the impacts of disasters.

The Commissioner of SoDMA, Mr. Mahmoud Moallin Abdulle, emphasized that the ongoing drought situation in the country requires an urgent and coordinated response, as it has severely affected communities in 74 districts across the country, many of which are currently facing critical humanitarian conditions.

The meeting forms part of the Federal Government of Somalia’s broader efforts to enhance coordination among government institutions in order to improve emergency response and provide support to communities affected by drought and other humanitarian crises.
