The Commissioner of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), Mr. Mahmoud Moallin Abdulle, today launched an emergency water trucking operation in Xeraale, Galmudug, to assist families affected by the ongoing drought.

The Commissioner, who is on a working visit to parts of Galmudug, was accompanied by Galmudug officials, including the Minister of Water and Energy, the Minister of Planning, and the Director General of the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs. He stated that the intervention, which will deliver up to 70 truckloads of water, is aimed at easing the severe water shortage affecting the district and its surrounding areas.

Mr. Mahmoud Moallin Abdulle also received a briefing from members of the local community and emphasized that the emergency water delivery will prioritize the most vulnerable families. He added that the initiative forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the response to drought and support affected communities.
