Mogadishu — The Humanitarian Affairs Director at the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management of Galmudug State, Mr. Abdisalan Abdullahi Farah, has reported that Galmudug is facing a severe drought that has significantly affected local communities.
Speaking at the National Conference on Drought Response and Food Security, Mr. Abdisalan noted that the drought has been driven by repeated rainfall failures, with several rainy seasons bringing little to no precipitation in parts of Galmudug, while other areas recorded only minimal rainfall.
He emphasized that affected communities are in urgent need of immediate emergency assistance and sustained support, calling on partners to accelerate response efforts to protect lives and reduce further hardship.
