The Commissioner of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), Mr. Mahmoud Ma’allin Abdulle, received the Chairperson of the National Refugee Agency at the Agency’s headquarters.

The two officials discussed the anticipated El Niño conditions and their potential impact on displaced people, particularly the risks of flooding and other hazards that may arise from heavy rainfall.

The meeting also focused on strengthening early preparedness, early warning, and inter-agency coordination to reduce the impact of disasters and ensure that vulnerable communities are adequately prepared to receive timely and appropriate assistance.
