The Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA) has launched a project to provide medical assistance to areas across the country expected to be affected by flooding associated with El Niño-related rainfall.

The initiative is part of SoDMA’s ongoing efforts to strengthen preparedness, prevention, and mitigation measures against the anticipated impacts of flooding in vulnerable areas of the country.

The project was officially launched in Janaale District, Lower Shabelle Region, where a consignment of medicines was handed over to strengthen healthcare services for communities living in the area.

The medical supplies were formally received by the administration of Janaale District Hospital and handed over by SoDMA’s Director of Health, Dr. Abdullahi Muse Ahmed.
