Mogadishu-The President of Mogadishu University, Dr. Ibrahim M. Mursal, who is part of the leaders participating in the 2nd Somali Disaster Resilience Conference, delivered a brief speech at the opening of the conference, noting that this forum reflects the need in our country to jointly build a resilient society that truly understands that natural and man-made disasters are problems that require solutions based on knowledge, planning, and cooperation. The President noted how our country needs a positive and inclusive vision, in order to reduce vulnerability, and at the same time build a strong social resilience, pointing out that knowledge is the greatest power that can prevent disasters in our country and develop our intelligence in this regard, while promising that the University of Mogadishu will further strengthen efforts in research to achieve the final goal.
