Mogadishu-The Deputy Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Somalia and the United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator for Somalia, Mr. George Conway, who delivered a brief statement at the 2nd Somalia Disaster Resilience Conference, noted the importance of this research-based conference in finding solutions to the country’s complex humanitarian issues. Mr. Conway, highlighted the special importance of redirecting investment in resilience projects and strengthening community resilience, noting that every dollar invested in building resilience infrastructure saves approximately $7 in responding to future humanitarian emergencies.
