Commissioner  Mohamoud Moalim met with Mr. Roman Viktorovich Kurynin, the Deputy Minister of Civil Defense, Emergencies, and Disaster Relief during his visit to Russia. The meeting addressed the urgent humanitarian situation in the country, stressing the need for a swift response to reduce disaster risks.

Participants emphasized collaboration among all parties and a commitment to support SoDMA in improving its capacity through targeted training and proper equipment.

Minister Roman stressed the urgent need for aid to Somalia to prevent a drought crisis. In response Mr. Mahamud expressed gratitude for #Russia‘s ongoing support and highlighted the strong diplomatic ties between Mogadishu and Moscow.
