The Commissioner of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), H.E. Mahmoud Moallim Abdulle, who is currently on an official visit to Pakistan, paid a visit to the headquarters of the National Disaster Management Authority of Pakistan (NDMA). He was warmly received by his counterpart, General Inam Haider Malik, together with senior leadership of the NDMA.
During the visit, the Commissioner of SoDMA held a productive meeting with the Commissioner of NDMA and conducted a tour of the Authority’s various departments, where he was briefed on Pakistan’s advanced disaster management systems and modern operational frameworks.
The purpose of the visit was to exchange experiences, share knowledge, and strengthen institutional capacities, taking into consideration NDMA Pakistan’s extensive experience and SoDMA’s ongoing efforts to establish a comprehensive national disaster management system in Somalia.
Both Commissioners, H.E. Mahmoud Moallim Abdulle and General Inam Haider Malik, agreed to strengthen sustained technical cooperation based on collaboration, knowledge exchange, and the development of resilient and effective disaster management systems that will formally benefit the communities of both countries.
