Ms. Iftin Omar Mohamud, a development expert based in Mogadishu and a graduate of Somali National University with a Bachelor’s degree in Education and Social Sciences, presented a study at the 2nd Somali Disaster Resilience Conference titled: “Integrating Community Knowledge and Education in Reducing Disaster Risks (DRR) in Somalia.”
In her presentation, Ms. Iftin highlighted the importance of blending traditional community knowledge with formal education to enhance disaster awareness, preparedness, and resilience across Somali communities, promoting a more inclusive and sustainable approach to risk reduction.
