Mogadishu – The Minister of Interior, Federal Affairs, and Reconciliation, Hon. Ali Yusuf Ali (Xoosh), underscored the significance of the 2nd Somalia Disaster Resilience Conference, emphasizing its role as a key platform for advancing national disaster preparedness.
Speaking at the event, Minister Xoosh said the conference offers a vital opportunity for Somali researchers, government institutions, humanitarian agencies, and universities to collaborate and exchange ideas aimed at developing new knowledge and innovative solutions grounded in effective disaster risk reduction strategies.
He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening partnerships between academia and policy institutions to enhance Somalia’s capacity to anticipate, manage, and mitigate disasters.
“The discussions and research emerging from this forum are essential for shaping practical, science-based policies that protect lives and build community resilience,” the Minister noted.
