The Director General of the Ministry of Humanitarian and Disaster Management of the Hirshabelle State, Mr. AbdiKadir Ahmed Haaji Mohamed, presented the drought situation affecting the regions of Hirshabelle during the National Drought Management Coordination Committee (NDMCC) meeting.

Mr. Cabdiqadir stated that rivers have dried up, water wells have run dry, and the impacts of the drought have been further intensified by insecurity resulting from the fight against terrorism. This has left communities in Hirshabelle in an extremely difficult situation, requiring urgent support and an effective, immediate response.
