On the second day of the 2nd Somali Disaster Resilience Conference, experts convened for a panel titled: “Strengthening Disaster Resilience at the Local Level – Integrating Knowledge, Policy, and Community Action.”
Panelists included
- Mohamed Mukhtar Ali, Information Management Specialist at SoDMA;
- Prof. Sharif Osman, Director of the Somali Water and Environment Center at Mogadishu University
- Abraham Kisang, FAO Representative and expert on climate adaptation and disaster risk reduction
- Hafsa Omar Abdullahi, Director of the Climate Department at MoECC.
- The discussion was moderated by Mukhtar Sheikh Hussein Jimale, Senior Advisor at SoDMA.
The session highlighted the importance of linking research, policy, and community initiatives to enhance disaster preparedness and resilience in Somalia.
