Mogadishu — Dr. Mohamed Biile Hashi, Ph.D., the Coordinator of Higher Education and Research Programs at Mogadishu University’s Kismayo Office, presented an insightful study at the 2nd Somalia Disaster Resilience Conference.
His paper, titled “Institutional and Community-Based Approaches: Evaluating Collaborative Mechanisms Between Local Governments and Youth Volunteers for Effective Disaster Risk Reduction in Somalia,” explored the critical role of partnership between public institutions and communities.
Dr. Biile emphasized that empowering youth-led volunteer initiatives and fostering closer cooperation with local authorities are vital steps toward building resilient communities capable of mitigating disaster risks.
