SoDMA Commissioner Mr. Mahamoud Moallim officially inaugurated the Somalia Drought Risk Reduction Conference in Nairobi, Kenya. This event was jointly organized by SoDMA and the Africa Risk Capacity (ARC).

This important 5-day gathering aims to establish a comprehensive plan to address and mitigate the ongoing drought risk in Somalia.

The conference was attended by a delegation led by Commissioner @MahamuudMoallim, alongside members of the ARC and representatives from the START NETWORK.

The Commissioner announced that the upcoming five-day conference will welcome representatives from various Somali government agencies, including a delegation from the Somali Parliament and the Ministry of Finance, in the coming days. This collaboration is expected to foster productive discussions and drive meaningful outcomes.

Mr. Mahamud highlighted that Somalia became a member of the ARC in 2021 after meeting the necessary criteria. He expressed optimism about the initiative, emphasizing that Somalia anticipates receiving drought Compensation to address the challenges posed by the ongoing drought affecting our nation.
