The Commissioner of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), Mr. Mahmoud Moallim Abdulle, today officially launched the Drought Relief and Response Program in Northeastern State.
The program will benefit communities across districts in the Sanaag, Sool, and Togdheer regions of Northeastern State. The launch of the drought response activities began in Aricaddeye, within Las Anod District, in the presence of the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management of Northeastern State, the Deputy Minister of Justice, members of parliament, local authorities, and other officials.
The humanitarian assistance is part of SoDMA’s ongoing efforts to reach communities affected by drought and recurring conflict, at a time when many families are still recovering from severe humanitarian conditions.
SoDMA will also extend the assistance to several other areas, including Taleex, Xudun, Las Anod, Buuhoodle, and Damale-Xaraggo, all within Northeastern State.
