The Commissioner of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), Mr. Mahmoud Moallim Abdulle, and the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Somalia, Mr. Wang Yu, today signed an agreement for a humanitarian assistance project funded by the Government of China in support of Somalia.
The project, valued at 15 million Chinese Yuan (RMB), is intended to provide humanitarian assistance to vulnerable people affected by ongoing humanitarian crises. The aid will be delivered to the country’s most affected communities to strengthen emergency relief efforts and support vulnerable populations.
Ambassador Wang Yu reaffirmed that the Government of China will continue to stand with Somalia by providing sustained support, particularly in the areas of humanitarian assistance and the strengthening of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
In his remarks, Commissioner Mahmoud Moallim Abdulle expressed his sincere appreciation to the Government of China for its continued solidarity and generous support to the Somali people, particularly its commitment to assisting vulnerable communities affected by humanitarian challenges.
