The Commissioner of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), Mr. Mahmoud Moallim Abdulle, received the Chairperson of the Towfiiq Political Organization, Dr. Sheikh Mohamed Shakir Ali Hassan, at the agency’s headquarters.

The meeting focused on exchanging views on the overall situation in Somalia and strengthening cooperation in support of the Somali people, particularly during humanitarian emergencies and disaster situations.

Dr. Sheikh Mohamed Shakir Ali Hassan commended the continued efforts of Somali Disaster Management Agency in disaster management and the humanitarian assistance provided to communities affected by droughts, floods, and other emergencies.

For his part, Commissioner Mahmoud Moallim Abdulle thanked the Chairperson of the Towfiiq Political Organization for his visit and underscored the importance of strengthening the role of Somali religious scholars in supporting humanitarian response efforts and raising public awareness.

The meeting was also attended by the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management of the South West State of Somalia, Mr. Abdinasir Abdi Caruush, and Member of Parliament Abdulkadir Omar Abdullahi of the South West State Parliament.
