The Deputy Commissioner of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), Dr. Ahmed Abdi Adan, received the UNICEF Representative in Somalia, Ms. Sandra Lattouf, at the SoDMA headquarters.

The meeting focused on strengthening and deepening cooperation between the two institutions, particularly in coordinating humanitarian response efforts and addressing the drought conditions affecting the country.

The UNICEF Representative in Somalia, Ms. Sandra Lattouf, commended SoDMA’s continued efforts in responding to drought and other natural disasters across the country. She noted that UNICEF has been working in Somalia for many years, providing support in the areas of health, nutrition, water, and child protection.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner of SoDMA, Dr. Ahmed Abdi Adan, expressed his appreciation to UNICEF for its ongoing cooperation with SoDMA and called for further strengthening of the partnership to address the drought situation affecting Somali communities.
